Owning the room isn’t about ego. It’s about awareness.

As a global speaker, lawyer, and former Mrs. Universe, I’ve learned that true leadership presence requires more than confidence—it requires emotional intelligence in motion.

Every space has an energy. Whether you’re presenting on stage, leading a team meeting, or networking internationally, here are 3 practical ways to own the room with grace:

1. Read before you lead.

Before you speak, listen. Watch. Observe. Presence is not performance—it’s perception and adaptability.

2. Respect the room’s rhythm.

From corporate boardrooms to community panels, each culture has a cadence. Honor it. Reflect it. Then elevate it with clarity and compassion.

3. Match energy, then move it forward.

You don’t have to overpower a space to own it. Real presence means creating calm, leading with purpose, and letting your values speak before you do.

I’m diving deeper into this and more in my next book,

Heavy is the Head That Wears the Crown,

coming September 1, 2025.

It’s a guide for women navigating leadership with grace—especially those carrying crowns that come with weight the world doesn’t always see.

Follow along for more insights and leadership tools.
